BOARD CERTIFICATION

After completing an accredited training program, a physician who is now board eligible participates in a series of written knowledge based and oral practice based examinations.  If those exams are passed, then the physician may apply for board certification within that specialty.  Typically the board certification is   given under the auspices of the American Board of Medical Specialties.   Drs. Wint and Wintman are board certified in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Martin is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery

SURGERY OF THE HAND

Once a practicing board certified Orthopedic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon who has  previously completed an accredited fellowship in Hand Surgery, has satisfied the requirements which among others is devoting a large part of their practice to problems of the hand and upper extremity, they may apply to take the exam for this added certification in Hand Surgery.  

Drs. Wint and Wintman have completed the requirements and have a certificate of added qualifications in Surgery of the Hand.  Dr. Martin   has  completed the requirements needed to pursue this certificate
