EMERGENCY ROOM CARE
Drs. Wint and Wintman take part in the Hand Call rotation at Baystate Medical Center for those patients who are seen in the emergency room and referred for follow up care and for in-patient consultations at Baystate Medical Center. They are not on call for private offices, clinics and other hospitals in the area including other Baystate affiliates. They do not have the ability to see all acute problems in the office on the days when they are on call for the emergency room. Decisions regarding timeliness of follow up care are made based upon the injury and the availability of the physicians. For care not delivered in the emergency room ,as well as for follow up from the emergency room, referral, authorization, and or approval must frequently be obtained from an insurance or health plan or the PCP. Those seeking routine care and follow up via the emergency room for non emergency conditions will be given the same consideration as any new patient calling for an initial consultation.
